Do I have to be flexible to do yoga?

"Doing" yoga is not just about moving your body into contorted postures! The full practice of yoga involves an eight-fold path of self-awareness, building on daily practices to cleanse the body, purify the mind and enliven the spirit. If you are willing, the body will follow, just be patient with it and practice "ahimsa" (non-violence) with the way you practice.

What is a Dosha and why is this so important for my mind/body health?

A "Dosha" is way to describe 'who you are' are an Energy Being. It helps to describe your unique mind/body constitution is, from birth.  As unique as our fingerprints are to us, the specific combination of the Five Elements of the universe, combine in a special way to form who we are.  The awareness of knowing who you are is the first step towards building a wellness-based lifestyle; learning to match which energy types support our nature, and which ones serve to keep us in a state of dis-ease. What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda, is a Sanskrit word, from ancient India. It is a whole-body system of wellness practices designed approximately 5,000 years ago. The basis for Ayurveda is to recognize that we are all a part of Nature, and the infinite flow and exchange of energy and information. By becoming conscious consumers of life, we begin to develop self-awareness and adopt tools that will help us build a life of health, wisdom and purpose.
